Our place, Sri Bannariamman Impex Pvt. Ltd., is located at No. 7 on the 3rd Cross Street in United Colony. It’s tucked away a little bit from the main road, but we actually like it that way because it isn't as chaotic. We have been working out of this spot for some years now. Every morning starts with one of us opening up the metal shutters and letting the fresh air in. We deal with a lot of impex work, which basically means a lot of coordination between different people and different places. There’s usually a pot of tea going in the corner of the room and someone is always looking for a misplaced pen or a stapler that went missing. We have to keep a very close eye on the inventory because things move fast and you can lose track if you aren't paying attention. The walls in here are covered with old calendars and some maps that we’ve used for a long time. It isn’t the kind of place with shiny floors or fancy glass walls, just a practical workspace where we can get the shipping orders sorted out. The street outside is quite narrow, so when a delivery truck comes, we have to move quickly to clear the way for them. It’s just us doing our daily tasks and making sure the goods get to where they need to go on time.
