Versatile Leather

Versatile Leather is located at No. 11 Gandhi Nagar 2nd Street in Kodungaiyur. If you're looking for us, we’re pretty close to the Pandiyan Theatre. The smell of leather is pretty strong around here, but we don't even notice it anymore. We spend our time working with hides and making various leather goods. It’s messy work and our hands are usually stained by the end of the shift. The shop isn't very large, so we have to be careful about where we stack the materials. Sometimes the street gets flooded when it rains heavily, which makes it hard to get deliveries in or out. We just keep our heads down and work on whatever project is on the bench that day. We aren't some big high-end brand you see in malls. We’re just a local business in Gandhi Nagar making things that last. Most of our tools are old but they still work fine for what we need. We don't have a fancy showroom, just the workspace where all the cutting and stitching happens. People from the neighborhood often stop by just to see what we’re making. We don't have any big corporate speeches to give. We just take the leather, cut it, sew it, and move on to the next piece. It’s a lot of physical labor, but it’s what we do. We try to keep things honest and straightforward here at the shop for everyone.
