Gooseberry Impex

Gooseberry Impex operates out of Flat C in Crystal Manor. That’s on Andavar Nagar 6th Street in Kodambakkam. It’s actually an apartment building, so it’s not your typical warehouse or big office. We use the space to manage our import and export business. It gets a bit tight sometimes with all the samples and files. Kodambakkam is a busy part of town, and 6th street can get narrow with parked bikes. We like it here though. It’s close to everything we need. Most of our work happens over the phone or on the computer. We spend a lot of time talking to vendors and checking on shipping dates. The neighbors in Crystal Manor are used to us by now. We try not to make too much noise. It’s a small operation. Just a couple of people really. We don’t have a big lobby or a receptionist. If someone knocks, one of us just gets up to open the door. We handle various products. It changes from month to month. We started this because we knew a few people in the trade. It’s grown a bit, but we still keep things very simple. No big meetings or fancy reports. We just check the ledgers and make sure the goods are moving. It’s a modest way to run a business. We keep some potted plants near the balcony to make the space feel a bit more like home while we work.
