Kodad Cement & Steel Private Limited

We work out of Ramana Enclave, specifically unit A-3 on Madhavan Road. It’s in Mahalingapuram, which is a busy part of Chennai. It’s more of an office setup than a warehouse since we handle the cement and steel orders from here. The room is usually filled with the sound of several people talking on phones at the same time. We have stacks of files on the tables and a whiteboard that’s covered in scribbles and delivery dates. It’s a bit cramped when we have visitors. We spend most of our time coordinating between the suppliers and the construction sites. The traffic on Madhavan Road can be a nightmare in the evenings, so we try to get our site visits done early. It’s not a polished corporate environment. There are half-empty coffee cups and chargers tangled up everywhere. We’ve had the same neighbors for years, and we usually run into them in the hallway. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait for the backup to kick in so we can finish the billing. We deal with a lot of logistics, trying to make sure steel and cement show up where they are supposed to. It’s a lot of checking and re-checking details. We just keep things running as best as we can from this small space in the enclave. There is a small tea shop downstairs where we usually get our afternoon snacks and take a quick break.
