Harish Traders

Down at 3, Somu Chetty Street, 2nd Lane, you can find Harish Traders. It is tucked away in a narrow part of the street where things can get a bit tight. We have been working out of this small space for quite some time now. Most of our day involves moving boxes and checking lists. The lighting isn't the best, but we know where everything is kept. Since we are in the 2nd Lane, it is a bit quieter than the main road, but not by much. We have neighbors who do similar work and we all kind of look out for each other. There isn't any fancy office furniture here. We use old wooden stools and a heavy metal desk. The floor is concrete and shows all the wear from years of dragging items across it. We don't do much talking about ourselves; we just get the orders ready. Sometimes a customer comes in and we have to shuffle things around just to find a place for them to stand. It gets hot in the afternoons, so we keep the fans going as fast as they will turn. We aren't trying to be the biggest business in the city. We just want to get through the day's tasks without too much trouble. It is a simple way to make a living and we are used to the routine of the street. It is not always easy, but it is what we do.
