Our place is over at 1A, Venkatachalam Street in Tondiarpet. Keum Woo Textile India Private Limited is a name that might sound a bit different, but we’re just a local textile spot in the middle of a busy neighborhood. The street is usually crowded with people and bikes, so getting stuff delivered can be a bit of a headache sometimes. We spend a lot of time dealing with fabrics and various materials. It’s a hands-on kind of job. We don’t have a fancy showroom or anything like that. It’s more about the actual work of getting the textiles ready. The building itself is older, and we’ve had to fix a few leaks and repaint the walls a couple of times. It feels like home to us though. We have a small group of workers who have been here since we started. We don’t use a lot of big words to describe what we do. We just look at the orders, check the cloth, and make sure everything is sorted. Some days are longer than others, especially when a big shipment is due. We drink a lot of tea and try to stay organized. It’s not a glamorous life, but it’s what we know. We’re just part of the Tondiarpet landscape now. If you walked past, you might not even notice us among all the other shops and houses.
