Karunya University

Karunya University has its office at No 72 on Rajaji Salai, right across from the Beach Station in Flower Bazaar. It is a very old part of the city, and the air always smells a bit like salt and whatever is being sold in the market nearby. We are not in a secluded campus out in the middle of nowhere; we are right in the thick of things. The building is simple, and we share the street with all sorts of vendors and commuters coming off the trains. Inside, it is mostly just us dealing with admissions, student queries, and all the usual paperwork that comes with running a university office. It gets loud outside with the trains and the traffic on Rajaji Salai, but we are used to it by now. We do not have a lot of fancy decorations or a grand entrance. It is just a functional space where work gets done. Most people stop by because they need something specific, like a form or to talk to someone about their courses. We try to be helpful without making things overly complicated. It is a bit of a walk from the main gate sometimes, but it is easy enough to find once you see the station across the way. We have been here for a while and have seen the neighborhood change, but our little office stays pretty much the same. It is just a practical spot for us to be accessible to everyone.
