Karani Chillies

Karani Chillies is situated at New No. 128 on Halls Road in Kilpauk. If you’re looking at an old map, it might say Old No. 26, but it’s the same building. We’ve been here for a long time, and the whole place smells like dried chillies, which is something you either love or you don't. Our work is pretty straightforward. We get the chillies in, we sort through them, and we get them ready for our customers. It’s a lot of manual labor, and your hands will definitely sting if you touch your eyes after a day of work. We don't have any big fancy equipment, just some scales and a lot of sacks. Kilpauk is a nice area, and Halls Road is always full of life. We know most of the people on our block. We don't have a marketing department or anyone to write fancy speeches for us. We just know our product and we know the people who buy it from us. It gets a bit crowded in the warehouse when a new shipment arrives, and we all have to pitch in to move the heavy bags. It’s hard work, and the dust makes everyone sneeze, but it’s what we do. We’re not looking to become some giant corporation. We just want to keep the shop running and do right by our neighbors who have been coming to us for many years. It's a simple, honest living for all of us.
