Kanchipuram Weavers Saree House

Kanchipuram Weavers Saree House is over at No. 8/13 Kapaleeswarar Sannadi Street. We are right in Mylapore, which is a very busy part of the city. Being so close to the temple means there is always a lot of noise and people walking by. Our shop is a small, traditional place. We do not have fancy glass counters or bright spotlights. It is just stacks and stacks of sarees that we have gathered over time. Most of the people who come here have been visiting us for years. They know the street well. The workspace is a bit cramped because we have so much stock, but we manage. We spend our days unfolding fabric and showing the different weaves to anyone who drops in. It gets quite warm in the afternoons, but we have a few old fans that keep the air moving. We do not do any big advertising or anything like that. People just know we are here on Sannadi Street. Sometimes the temple bells get loud enough that we have to pause our conversations, but it is part of the charm of working in Mylapore. We just focus on the sarees and helping people find what they need. It is a simple way to run a business, and it works for us. We stay open until late evening when the crowds finally start to thin out.
