K. M. Leather Exports

We operate K. M. Leather Exports from the first floor at No. 23 E. K. Guru Street. Being on the I Floor means we have to carry everything up and down the stairs, which keeps us in shape, I guess. The smell of leather is the first thing you notice when you walk in. It’s a strong, earthy scent that never really goes away. We have rolls of hide stacked up against the walls and large tables for measuring and cutting. It’s a bit of a process, making sure the quality is okay before it goes out for export. We spend a lot of time on the phone or checking lists to make sure the shipments are going to the right places. E. K. Guru Street is a busy place with plenty of other businesses around, so there is always something happening outside. We don’t have a fancy showroom. It’s mostly just a workspace where we get things ready. The floor is covered in scraps and trimmings by the end of the day. We sweep it up every evening before we lock up. It’s just us doing the work, day in and day out. We don’t have a lot of visitors, mostly just the delivery guys and the people we work with directly. It’s a practical setup for the kind of leather work we do here. We just focus on the orders and hope the weather stays dry for the transport.
