Jay Overseas

You can find Jay Overseas on the second floor of the building at 136/3 N.S.C. Bose Road. It’s an older building, and you have to walk up the stairs since there isn't a lift that works all the time. Our office is a bit of a maze with stacks of boxes and folders everywhere. We deal with overseas trading, so there are always stamps and customs forms sitting on the desks. From our windows on the second floor, we can see the traffic moving along Bose Road, which is almost always jammed. It’s a noisy part of town, but we’re used to the honking and the shouting from the street below. The office itself is pretty basic—just some wooden desks, a few old computers, and a kettle for making tea. We spend a lot of time on the telephone and writing emails to people in different time zones. The light in here is a bit dim, but it’s a comfortable enough place to work. We aren't a big corporation with a shiny lobby; we’re just a small team trying to keep our shipments moving smoothly. Sometimes things get delayed at the port, and those are the stressful days. But mostly, it’s just a steady routine of checking papers and making sure everything is in order. We’ve been in this spot for years and know all the local tea stalls nearby.
