Jamal & Brothers

Jamal & Brothers has been sitting here at No. 6, Geils Street for quite some time now. If you know the Mannady area, especially around Parrys, you know it gets pretty crowded and loud during the day. We are just one of those shops tucked into the street where the neighbors all know each other. My brothers and I take turns being here. Sometimes the shop feels a bit small when we have a lot of stuff coming in, but we manage. Most of our days are spent checking the stock and talking to the people who walk in off the street. It’s not a fancy place, just some old shelves and a desk that’s seen better days. We don’t really do anything flashy. We just open up in the morning, handle whatever needs doing, and close when the sun goes down. Most people find us because they were already in the neighborhood for something else. It's a busy part of town, so there is always someone passing by. We like the energy of Mannady. It keeps us on our toes. Sometimes the deliveries get stuck in traffic because the roads are so narrow, but that’s just how it goes around here. We don’t have a big office or anything like that. Just the shop floor and a bit of storage space in the back. It’s a simple way of working, and it’s what we’ve always done for years and years. It’s home.
