India Conveyor Systems

Our workshop is located on Mayor Basu Dev Street over in Old Washermenpet. It’s a busy part of Chennai where there is always something happening on the street. C. Hari Kannan runs things here at India Conveyor Systems. We’ve been at this spot for a while, even though the door numbers changed from 66 to 102. It’s an old building, and it smells like grease and metal most of the time. We work on conveyors and parts for all kinds of industries. The space is pretty cramped with tools and half-finished frames laying around. We don't have a cooling system, so the Chennai heat is something we just deal with. It gets loud when the grinders are going. Most of our neighbors are also in some kind of trade, so there’s a lot of shouting back and forth. We don't have a website that works well or any fancy brochures. People just know us from being around the area for so long. Sometimes we sit out front on the steps when things are slow. If you come by, you’ll probably find us covered in a bit of oil or dust from the shop floor. We just like fixing things and making sure the belts run right. It’s honest work, and it keeps us busy from morning until the sun goes down. We're just regular people trying to do a good job.
