Icfai Reasearch Centre

Our Icfai Research Centre is up on the 7th floor of Appaswamy Towers in Chennai. The address says 29 Sir Theogoroya Road, but everyone around here just calls it the old Sir Thyagaraya Road. Being on the 7th floor gives us a bit of a view, but mostly we are just looking at the roofs of other buildings. The elevator can be a bit slow in the morning when everyone is trying to get to work at the same time. Inside, it’s mostly quiet because people are busy with their research and reading. We have a lot of books and papers piled up everywhere. It’s a bit of a climb if the power goes out, though luckily that doesn’t happen too often. The office is in T. Nagar, so it’s always busy outside once you leave the building. There are plenty of places to grab a quick bite nearby, which is good because we usually work through lunch. We have a small pantry where we make tea. The air conditioning is pretty much a necessity here in Chennai, otherwise, we wouldn't get much done. It’s a professional enough space, but it’s definitely not fancy. We have some old filing cabinets that squeak when you open them. Most of us have been working here together for a long time, so we just get on with the research and the daily tasks without much fuss.
