Hotel Raj Bhavan

Our place, Hotel Raj Bhavan, is over on Cemetry Road in Royapuram. We are quite close to the Royapuram signal, so the traffic is something we deal with all day. It’s a busy corner of Chennai. We have been operating here for a while, and the neighborhood knows us well. It’s not a luxury setup, just a practical building with rooms for travelers. We mostly see people who have business at the port or nearby shops. The building has its quirks, like the plumbing can be loud sometimes, but we fix things as they break. We spend a lot of time sweeping the front steps because of all the dust from the road. It’s a small team here, mostly just family and a couple of helpers. We don't use any fancy management software; we just write things down in a big ledger. It’s more personal that way. Sometimes it gets hot in the afternoons, but that’s just Chennai for you. We keep the fans running and try to make people feel okay while they stay. The nearby market is loud in the mornings, which helps us wake up and start the day. We don't put up big ads or anything. People just find us by walking past or hearing about us from others. It’s a modest living, and we just try to keep the place decent for the next guest who walks in. We hope the water stays cool and the guests stay happy.
