Hotel Palmgrove

This building at 13, Kodambakkam High Road has been around for quite some time now. In Nungambakkam, things move fast, but here at Hotel Palmgrove, we just keep things going one day at a time. The street outside is usually full of cars and people heading somewhere else in a hurry. We spend a lot of our mornings just sweeping the front area and making sure the sign is visible to anyone passing by. It’s a plain place, nothing too fancy to look at, just concrete and windows and the usual city dust that settles on everything. You find us right on the main stretch where the 600034 area code starts to feel really busy. Some days the humidity is high and the fans just move the warm air around, but that’s just how it is here. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. It’s mostly just us answering the phone and writing things down in the ledger by hand. The walls are a bit faded in some spots, and the stairs have seen plenty of feet over the years. When the sun goes down, the lights on Kodambakkam High Road come on and the whole place looks a bit different. We just stay here, watching the traffic and waiting for whoever needs a place to sit for a bit. It’s a simple life at number 13, and we don’t try to make it sound like more than it is.
