Our place is located on 2nd Line Beach in Parrys, right near the GPO. Being so close to the main post office means there is always something happening around us. Chennai’s weather can be tough, and this building has stood through a lot of it. We are just a few doors down from other old buildings in this narrow street. It is not the easiest place to find if you are new to the city because of all the lorries and bikes parked everywhere. We spend most of our time just looking after the daily tasks. We don't use any big management systems, just old-fashioned hard work. The rooms are basic because that is what people around here look for. Most of our guests are businessmen coming for the wholesale markets or people with work at the government offices nearby. It gets very loud during the day with all the honking, but it quietens down a bit at night once the shops close up. We’ve seen the neighborhood change over the years, though some things stay exactly the same. The walls have been painted a few times, and we try to keep things tidy as much as we can. It’s a family-run kind of feeling here. No one is wearing suits or anything. We just talk to people like they are neighbors. It’s a practical spot for staying in the heart of the old city, even if it is a bit dusty sometimes.
