Horizon Leather Exports is based over in Periamet at 76/33, Wuthucattan Street. If you know Chennai, you know Periamet is the heart of the leather trade. Our street is narrow and always full of delivery vans and people carrying bundles. We’ve been working out of this spot for a long time, dealing with all sorts of leather goods. It’s a bit of a messy business, honestly, with the smell of hides and the noise of the cutting tools, but we like it. We aren't some big corporate office with glass walls. We have a workspace that’s practical and used every single day. We spend a lot of our time looking over pieces of leather to make sure they’re okay before we send them off. Our team is small, mostly guys who have been in the leather industry since they were young. We don't really have a marketing team or anyone to write fancy slogans. We just get the orders, finish the work, and get it shipped out. It’s a lot of heavy lifting and long hours, especially when there’s a big shipment going out. The street can be a nightmare for parking, but that’s just how it is here. We just keep our heads down and stay busy with the work at hand.
