Our place is at 625/532 in the Keel Eral Shopping Complex. It sits right on the Thiruvetriyur Highway in Tondiarpet. Being on the highway means it’s always loud with the sound of trucks and buses rushing past. The shop is part of a larger complex, so there are always people moving around the corridors. We deal with bulk tea and other items, so the whole place has a very specific earthy smell. It’s a deep, rich scent that you get used to after a few minutes. We spend most of the day sorting through large sacks and making sure they are stored away from any moisture. The humidity in Tondiarpet can be a real problem, so we have to be careful with how we stack things. We don't have a fancy showroom. It's more of a functional space where we get things ready for shipment. Sometimes we have to stay late to finish an order, and we just order some food from the stalls downstairs. The lights in the complex are a bit dim in the evenings, but we have our own lamps to work by. We aren't trying to impress anyone with a corporate look. We just focus on the quality of what's inside the bags. It’s a busy, noisy, and somewhat messy business, but it keeps us going day after day.
