Govetment Highersecondary School is actually located in an interesting spot at D-Block, No 407 on the fourth floor of Amarprakash - Royal Castle in Thirumudivakkam, Chennai. The pincode is 600044. It is a bit unusual to find a school office or setup inside a residential complex like Royal Castle, but that is where we are. Being on the fourth floor means we have a bit of a view of the surrounding area. Thirumudivakkam is a bit on the outskirts, so it is not as crowded as the center of Chennai, but it is growing fast. We have older students here since it is a higher secondary level. The space is a bit more compact than a traditional sprawling school campus. We use the rooms for classes and administrative work. It feels a bit like being in an apartment because of the building design. We have to use the lifts or the stairs to get up here every day. It is a quiet place compared to schools that sit right on the main road. The students come in and head up to their respective rooms. We do not have a big outdoor field right here, so things are kept quite contained. It is a practical arrangement for this part of the city. We just handle the lessons and the exams like any other school. The floors are tiled, and the lighting is just regular office lights. It is a very simple, no-nonsense environment for the staff and the students.
