Government Higher Secondary School Tharr

Down on Kishkintha Road in Tambaram West, you'll find our school. It’s at number 12, Amal Nagar. People around here know the spot because it’s right on the way to the park. Being a Government Higher Secondary School, we have a lot of teenagers coming in every morning from the surrounding streets. The gates usually open early, and you can see the students in their uniforms gathering around the entrance. It’s a bit of a walk from the main bus stand, but most of the kids are used to it by now. The building is a sturdy one, painted a standard color that you see on many government offices. Inside, the corridors are long and a bit dark, but the classrooms get plenty of light from the windows. We don't really do much advertising or anything like that. Most people know we are here just by living in Tambaram. The teachers are regular folks who live nearby and have been working here for quite a while. During the rainy season, the road outside can get some puddles, but the kids just jump over them. We have a small playground where they do their physical education classes. It’s just a local school where things happen in a routine way every single day. Nothing flashy, just a place for the kids to get their education and prepare for whatever comes next after they finish their 12th standard.
