Government Higher Secondary School Talen

This school is over at Door No 21 Plot No 196, 4Th Street Murugu Nagar, Velacheri. If you know Velacheri, you know it’s a busy place with lots of shops and people everywhere. We are just a government higher secondary school called Talen. The building sits on a plot that’s seen a lot of years. It’s not a huge campus, but we make use of every corner we have. The classrooms are filled with wooden benches that have seen better days. Every morning, the street gets a bit crowded with cycles and parents dropping off their kids. We don't have any shiny brochures or big advertisements. It’s just a local school where the neighborhood children come to study. You’ll find teachers sitting in the staff room grading papers or talking about the next set of exams. The hallways can get a bit dusty because of the wind, but that’s just how it is. We have the usual subjects and the usual routine. When it rains, we all have to watch out for the puddles near the entrance. It’s a very grounded place. No one is trying to be something they aren't. We just open the gates in the morning and do the work until the bell rings in the afternoon. Velacheri is our home and we’re just another part of the community here, serving the families around Murugu Nagar every day.
