Government Higher Secondary School Karanvas

Our place is at 53 Ms Nagar, right off the Kundrathur Main Road in Porur. It is a very busy area, and being near the main road means there is always something going on right outside our gate. Government Higher Secondary School Karanvas is where we spend most of our waking hours. The building isn't new, and you can see that in the way the concrete stairs are worn down or how the windows don't always slide perfectly in their tracks. But it works for us. We have the usual rows of wooden desks and the blackboards that have seen a lot of chalk over the years. Porur is growing fast, but we have stayed pretty much the same. We have students coming in from all over the Ms Nagar area. Mornings are the most hectic part of the day, with everyone trying to get through the gates at once. Once the classes start, it settles down a bit, though you can still hear the heavy buses and horns from Kundrathur Main Road. We do not have any big corporate backing or fancy equipment here. It is just us, the books, and the students. We do our best to keep the place tidy, though it is a constant battle with the red dust that seems to be everywhere in this part of town. We are just a neighborhood school trying to get through the daily schedule and help the kids get their secondary education finished.
