Government Higher Secondary School Jaruakhera

If you head down to Car Street in Thiruverkadu, you’ll find us at number 93. Government Higher Secondary School Jaruakhera has been part of this neighborhood for quite a bit. It’s a simple setup. We have a few blocks of classrooms and a small courtyard where the kids gather for assembly. The mornings start early here. You can hear the prayers and then the sound of chairs dragging on the floor. It's a bit dusty because of the road work nearby, but we manage. We aren't doing anything groundbreaking, just running a school like any other. The teachers come in from different parts of Chennai. Some of them have been here for over ten years. We have a small library, though most of the books are pretty old now. Students spend their time studying for the big exams. We don't have a lot of fancy equipment or computers. It's mostly just pens and paper and a lot of talking. Sometimes the gate gets stuck, and we have to give it a good kick to open it. It's those little things that make up our day. We aren't a big private institution with a huge budget. We are just a local government school trying to keep things moving. Families in the area depend on us. We're just here, doing the work, day in and day out, without much fuss or bother while the city moves around us.
