Government Higher Secondary School Dhamnod is located at No 5/48 on 2nd Main Road. We’re right on the border of Neelankarai and Palavakkam here in Chennai. It’s a busy area, but 2nd Main Road stays a bit more relaxed than the major highways. Our building isn't anything to brag about in terms of looks. It’s a functional space that’s been around for quite a few years now. We have classrooms that get a bit hot in the summer months, but the fans keep the air moving as best they can. The address 5/48 is where we spend most of our daylight hours. Most of us who work here live close by, so we're part of the neighborhood. We don't use any complicated systems or fancy technology. We just stick to the government curriculum and handle the daily tasks. If a window breaks, we fix it when we can. If the rain leaks in, we just put out a bucket and keep teaching. It’s just how things go. We see a lot of kids from the nearby streets coming in every morning. They know the way to the gate perfectly. There isn't any corporate polish here.
