We are over at No 3, 1st Cross Street in the Lakshmi Puram Extension of Tambaram West. Our name is Government Higher Secondary School Birmawal. It’s a bit of a walk from the main road, but it’s a peaceful spot for a school. We have a small building here that we’ve made the most of. The classrooms are simple, with just the basic stuff you need for teaching. We don’t have a big budget for decorations, so the walls are mostly plain. We spend our time on the actual schoolwork. Being in Tambaram West, we get a lot of local kids from the extension area. The name Birmawal is what’s on our official sign outside. We don’t try to be anything we aren't. We are just a group of people making sure the school runs every day. There is always something to fix, like a loose door handle or a flickering light. We just get it done. The staff is local, and we often see the parents at the market. It’s a tight-knit kind of place. At No 3, we don’t have much room for big events, so we keep things low-key. We are just Government Higher Secondary School Birmawal. We show up, do the work, and head home. It’s a simple existence, and it works for us. We aren't looking for praise, just a good day’s work in Lakshmi Puram. It’s a nice neighborhood to be in.
