Government Higher Secondary School Baleh

This school is right on Thiruvallur Salai in the Mogappair area of Chennai. If you know No 393, that is where we are. It is a government school, so things are pretty straightforward here. We have a lot of kids from the surrounding streets coming in every morning. The traffic on the main road can be a real headache, especially during the morning rush. You hear the horns and the buses all day long. The building is old, and the paint is peeling in some spots, but it serves its purpose. We have high ceilings and those big windows that let in a bit of a breeze if we are lucky. Most of the desks are the heavy wooden kind. At lunchtime, the playground gets very loud with all the shouting and running. It is a bit of a squeeze sometimes because there are so many students. We don't have fancy air conditioning or anything like that. We just have the ceiling fans that hum all day. The teachers have their own small room where they keep their bags and eat their tiffin. We see the same parents every day at the gate. Mogappair has changed a lot over the years, more buildings and more people, but the school stays pretty much the same. We just keep the routine going, day after day. It is a busy life here in Chennai, and we are just one part of this neighborhood.
