You will find Government Higher Secondary School Baghwar tucked away at No 1 on Police Manickam Street. It is right in the State Bank Colony area of Ayanavaram. Most people around here know where we are because of the noise during the lunch break. It is a government school, so things are pretty straightforward. We have the usual rows of classrooms and a small space out front where the kids hang out before the first bell rings. Chennai gets really warm, so the shade from the few trees we have is usually where everyone wants to be. The school has been here for a while. We just keep things moving, making sure the kids have their books and the attendance is marked. It’s a basic setup but it works for the families living around here.
