Government Higher Secondary School Ashta

We are located at 99 Rajagopalan Street in Valasaravakkam. It’s tucked away in Devi Karumariamman Nagar, so it feels a little more like a neighborhood school compared to those right on the main highways. The street is usually lined with parked scooters and there is a lot of dust when the wind blows. Our school building is pretty straightforward, just a couple of floors with stairs that have seen better days. We have a lot of students coming from the local houses around here. The classrooms are filled with those long wooden benches that sit four or five kids at a time. It’s not always quiet, especially when the primary kids are on their break, but that's just how it is. We don't have a lot of modern stuff, just the standard blackboards and some old fans that hum while they spin. The staff room is always a bit messy with papers and lunch boxes piled up on the big table. We don't try to look like anything more than what we are, which is just a place for the neighborhood kids to get their schooling done. Sometimes the water tank runs low and we have to wait for the refill, or the bell doesn't work right, but we manage. It’s a decent place for people who live nearby and want a school that’s close to home and easy for the kids to reach by foot or bicycle most days.
