Gout School Chinna Bonkur

Gout School Chinna Bonkur is right here in Chindatripet on Lafond Street. We are at numbers 8 and 9. It’s a busy part of Chennai, and you can usually hear the traffic from the main road while the kids are in their classes. Most of the staff live nearby, so we walk or take a cycle to work every morning. The building isn't brand new or anything fancy, but it gets the job done and keeps everyone out of the sun. We spend most of our time just managing the daily schedule and making sure the registers are filled out properly. Some days are quite loud when the kids are out for their break in the little space we have. There’s a lot of history in this part of town, and we feel like a small piece of that. Sometimes the electricity goes out in the afternoons, so we just open the windows and keep going with the lessons. It is just a normal school day for us, nothing special to brag about. We see the same faces every day, from the parents dropping off their little ones to the shopkeepers across the street who wave when we head home. It is a bit dusty on Lafond Street because of all the construction nearby lately, but we just sweep it out every morning and start again. That is pretty much how things go around here for everyone involved in this little place we call our school and we are okay with that. It works for us.
