Mr Victor Periyanayagam Owner of this business is usually the one handling the big decisions here at Goodwyn Overseas. We deal with a lot of shipping and paperwork that goes across borders. It means we spend a lot of time on the computer or the phone, trying to make sure things are moving where they should be. The office is often a mess of folders and shipping labels. We don't have a lot of staff, so everyone ends up doing a bit of everything. Sometimes we are tracking a container and other times we are just trying to fix the printer. It is not the kind of job where you see the results right away, since everything takes time to travel. We have to keep track of different time zones which can be confusing if you aren't paying attention. Victor is a busy man but he usually has time to chat for a minute if the day isn't too crazy. We don't have a lot of walk-in visitors because most of our work happens through emails and calls. The building is just a regular place, nothing to stand out from the street. We just show up, do the logistics work, and head home when the emails stop coming in for the night. It is a steady rhythm and we have gotten used to the pace over the years. We just keep our heads down and make sure the cargo gets to where it belongs.
