Our place is on North Crescent Road in T Nagar, at number 2. Most people know T Nagar for the shopping and the crowds, but this particular road is a little tucked away from the main madness. Goodearth Fertilisers Company has been operating out of this Chennai address for quite some time. The building is older, and you can tell by the way the doors creak and the walls look. We deal with fertilisers, which isn’t the cleanest business to be in, so our office often has a bit of an earthy smell to it. We don't have a fancy showroom or anything like that. It’s mostly desks, old filing cabinets, and a lot of ledgers. We spend the day talking to distributors and making sure the supplies are getting to the right warehouses. It’s a lot of repetitive work, checking weights and verifying delivery notes. The heat in this part of town can be really something else in May, but we just keep the windows open and the fans going. We aren’t trying to impress anyone with a sleek office or expensive branding. We are just local people who know the fertiliser trade inside out. It’s a busy life, and there’s always someone coming in with a question or a complaint about a shipment. We take it as it comes and try to stay organized despite the constant phone calls.
