Good Leather Company

You can find us at 47, Thiruvengadam Street in Periamet. This neighborhood has a long history with leather, and we are just one small part of it. The street is narrow and always packed with carts, bikes, and people. Our place is an old building, the kind with thick walls that stay a bit cooler than the outside when the sun is beating down. Inside, it’s mostly just stacks of skins and the tools we use for sorting. We spend the day looking over pieces of leather, checking for marks or holes. It takes a certain kind of eye to see what’s good and what isn't, and most of us have been doing it for years. We’ve been on this street for a long time. The neighbors are all doing similar things, so there’s a sense of community here. We don't really do anything fancy or modern. There’s a small area where we keep the records and a bigger space for the actual work. Sometimes it gets loud with everyone talking over the noise from the street, but that’s just Periamet for you. It’s a busy life. We don't spend money on fancy decorations or expensive office furniture. We'd rather just focus on the leather piles and getting the orders right. It’s honest work, and it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday. When the day ends, we pull down the heavy shutters and head home like everyone else on Thiruvengadam Street.
