We are based out of the Industrial Estate in Guindy. Our units are Super A-16 and A-17. It’s a proper industrial area, so there are lots of workshops and factories around us. You can hear the hum of machinery all day long. We work with leather here. It’s what we’ve done for a long time. The space is large and open, mostly filled with cutting tables and racks for the hides. It’s not a showroom. It’s a place where work actually gets done. There’s the smell of glue and tanned skins in the air. We have a crew of workers who know their way around a hide. They can spot a flaw in the leather from a mile away. We don’t have fancy signs or a glass front. It’s just big metal doors and a lot of activity inside. Guindy is a good place for this kind of business because all the transport links are close by. We get deliveries of raw materials in the mornings and send out finished goods in the evenings. It’s dusty and sometimes hot, especially when the fans are just moving the warm air around, but we are used to it. We take our work seriously but we don't put on any acts. We just produce the leather goods people ask for. The Guindy Industrial Estate is a massive place, so we tell people to look for the Super A block. Units 16 and 17 are right next to each other. We’ve been here for a long time, working with leather and skins. It’s a messy business, with scraps and dust and the sound of the heavy stitching machines. We don't have a fancy office for meetings. If a client comes, we usually just talk right there on the shop floor near the cutting tables. It’s more honest that way. You can see exactly what we are making. The overhead lights are bright because you can't afford to make a mistake when you're cutting hide. We have a small radio that plays local songs in the background. It helps the day go by faster. We aren't trying to be the biggest factory, just a reliable one that gets the orders out on time.
