Golden Rice

Golden Rice is located at 61/31 Audiyappa Naikaen Street, right in the heart of Parrys. If you know Parrys at all, you know how crowded and busy these streets can be every single day. It's a constant buzz of people, carts, and vehicles trying to move through the narrow lanes. Our shop is right in the middle of all that action. We spend our days surrounded by heavy bags of rice stacked high against the walls. The smell of the grain is always in the air. It’s a noisy place to work, with the sounds of the market just outside the front door, but we wouldn’t have it any other way. We’ve been here for a long time, and we know most of the other shopkeepers on this street. It’s a tight-knit spot despite how busy and chaotic it can seem to an outsider. There’s not much room to move around inside once the new stock arrives, so we’re always shifting bags from one side to the other to make space. We don't have a website or any fancy marketing or signs. People usually find us just by walking down the street or hearing about our rice from someone else in the neighborhood. It's a very old-school way of doing things. We open up early to beat the worst of the heat and stay busy until the evening. Parrys has a life of its own, and we're glad to be a small part.
