Glamour Leathers

Periamet is an old part of the city, and we are right in the middle of it at No. 9-1/4 on Narayana Chetty Street. Our shop, Glamour Leathers, is on the first floor. You have to walk up the stairs, and the building has that old smell of stone and wood. It’s a narrow street, so it gets quite tight when there’s a delivery truck trying to squeeze through. We’ve been here for a while, and the walls show it. We don't have fancy paint or modern art; it’s just a place of work. We have our tools and our materials spread out, and we know exactly where every single thing is kept. The neighborhood has a lot of history, and you can feel it when you walk around Narayana Chetty Street. It’s not like the shiny new malls they’re building everywhere else. It’s a bit gritty, a bit loud, and very real. The smell of leather is always hanging in the air, which we don't even notice anymore. We have an old ceiling fan that wobbles a bit, but it still works. We start the day early and usually finish when the light starts to fade. There’s no big corporate strategy here. We just work on what’s in front of us and try to do a decent job. It’s a simple existence, and we like the people who live and work around us. Everyone knows everyone’s business, which is just how it goes here.
