Gem Flavours Pvt Ltd is located right in the heart of Triplicane at 36/26 Sunkuvar Street. It’s a narrow street, like most places in this part of Chennai, so it can be quite a squeeze for cars. We’ve been here for a good while, working out of this old building. Inside, you’ll usually smell all sorts of things because of the flavors we work with. It’s not a sterile lab, just a working space where we blend and test things to see what tastes right. We handle a lot of different orders, some big and some very small for local shops. The staff here is like a small family. We drink tea together in the afternoons and talk about how the day is going. We don’t have a big marketing budget or any of those flashy advertisements you see on TV. Most people find us through word of mouth or because they’ve been buying from us for years. Triplicane is a lively place to be, and there’s always something happening outside our door. Sometimes the noise from the street makes it hard to hear on the phone, but that’s just part of being in this neighborhood. We try to be helpful whenever someone walks in with a question. It’s a modest operation, but we take pride in the fact that our flavors end up in so many different foods. We just keep our heads down and do the work needed.
