We are tucked away in Arumbakkam, specifically on 1St Main Road in Jaganathan Nagar. The shop for Bhimboys Cold Foods is at New No. 25. It’s a decent area, mostly residential around us, so it’s quieter than the main markets. Our day starts early because dealing with cold foods means you can't let things sit out for long. We have several large freezers and cooling units that hum all day long. The electricity bill is always a worry, especially in the Chennai heat. We spend a lot of time checking temperatures and moving heavy crates around. The floors are usually a bit wet from the condensation, so we have to be careful not to slip. It’s not a big operation, just a few of us making sure the stock is right and the deliveries are on time. We get locals coming in for bits and pieces, and we also handle some larger orders for parties or small shops. The neighborhood kids sometimes hang around outside when it’s hot. We don’t have fancy signs or anything. It's just a plain storefront where we work. Sometimes the delivery van gets stuck in the narrow lane, which causes a bit of a headache with the neighbors. We just apologize and get the crates moved as fast as we can. It’s hard work, but we are used to the routine of this place after so many years here.
