Akshay Foods

Akshay Foods is located at No 9 on Srinivasa Street in West Mambalam. We are right next to the Sathya Narayana Temple, which is a very well-known landmark in this area. Our shop is quite small and we mostly focus on food items that people need for their daily meals or special occasions. Being so close to the temple means we see a lot of people coming and going all day long. West Mambalam is a very traditional neighborhood, and we fit right into the rhythm of the street. The shop is often crowded with bags and boxes of supplies. We do not have a lot of room for people to stand around, so it is usually a quick in-and-out kind of business. The smell of the temple incense often drifts into our doorway, which is quite nice. Our staff consists of just a few of us who handle everything from taking orders to packing things up. We do not have a website or anything like that. People just know where we are and they stop by when they need something. Sometimes it gets a bit chaotic when there is a festival at the temple because the street gets blocked, but we stay open regardless. We have been at this No 9 address for a long time and we know most of our neighbors. It is a simple operation and we just try to keep things moving as best as we can every day.
