Gautam Cement Works

Gautam Cement Works is located at 9, Shivanandam Colony in Korattur. It’s a straightforward operation where we spend our days working with concrete and cement. The yard is usually full of finished pieces drying in the sun. We make things like pipes and blocks that people need for building houses or fixing up the neighborhood. It’s a heavy job. My back feels it at the end of every day. We’ve been in Korattur for a long time now. The colony is usually quiet, but we make a bit of noise when the mixer is going. There’s a lot of dust involved in this kind of work. It gets on your clothes and in your hair, but you get used to it. We don’t have a big office or a sales team. If someone needs something, they just walk into the yard and talk to us. We show them what we’ve got and help them load it up. The quality of the mix is what matters most. We don't use any fancy words to describe what we do. It’s just cement, water, and sand mixed the right way. We have a small crew of guys who have been here for years. We know the local streets well because we’ve delivered to most of them at some point. It’s hard work, but there is something good about seeing a finished wall or a pipe that you made with your own hands.
