Fore Most Engineering

If you go down Avadi Road in Karayanchavadi, near Poonamalle and Kattupakkam, you’ll find us at number 60. Fore Most Engineering is tucked away there, and you can usually hear the sound of machines before you even see the sign. The workshop is a bit messy, with bits of metal and tools scattered around, but we know where everything is. It’s a practical space. We’ve got oil stains on the floor that have been there for a decade. The air always smells a bit like grease and hot metal. It isn’t a place for suits and ties. Most of us are in work clothes that have seen better days. We’ve been in this part of Poonamalle for a long time, and we’ve seen the whole area grow up around us. There’s a tea stall just around the corner where we get our morning fix, and that’s usually when we plan out the day’s work. We don't have a fancy website or a big sales team. People just come by with their parts or their plans, and we see what we can do. Some projects are easy, others take a lot of scratching of heads and trying different things. It’s hard work, and the heat in the shop can be a lot during the summer, but it’s what we do. We just keep the machines running and the work moving.
