We've been here on Wuthucattan Street for a good while now. Periamet is always busy, and our shop at New No. 10/1 is right in the thick of it. Most days you’ll find us surrounded by stacks of leather, just getting through the orders that come in. It’s a lot of manual work, checking skins and making sure everything is sorted right before it goes out. Sometimes the street gets so crowded it's hard to move, but that’s just how it is around here. We aren't doing anything fancy, just the regular leather business. It started years ago, and we’ve stayed in this same spot, even when the door numbers changed from 67/1 to the new one. People know where to find us. My hands are usually stained or dusty by noon. We don't have a big office or anything, just the workspace and a desk for the paperwork. Some days are slower than others, but there is always something that needs trimming or packing. It’s quiet work mostly. We don't talk much while we're cutting or sorting. You get used to the smell of the leather pretty quick, it just smells like work to me. If you walk down the lane past the old shops, you'll see our sign. It's a simple setup. We just try to keep things moving and get the piles cleared out by evening. That's really all there is to it. Just us and the leather.
