Akhela Fashions

Getting to Akhela Fashions is pretty easy if you know where the Government Eye Hospital in Egmore is. We are right nearby. It’s a busy area with a lot of traffic and people always rushing to appointments. Inside our place, it’s a bit different. We have rows of fabric and the sound of scissors cutting through cloth. It’s what we do every single day. We aren't trying to be some huge international name. We just want to make decent clothes for the people who walk through our door. The lighting in the back could be better, but we manage with what we have. Some of our staff have been in Egmore their whole lives. They know the shortcuts and where to get the best snacks during break time. We don't spend money on big ads or glossy brochures. Our work mostly speaks for itself when someone sees a neighbor wearing something we made. It’s a lot of sitting and focused work, which can be tiring on the eyes, ironically, given who our neighbors are across the street. We just keep our heads down and get through the pile of work on the desk. Every now and then, a customer comes in with a weird request, and we do our best to figure it out together. It’s just us here, making things one piece at a time and trying to keep the place organized.
