Ebrahim Leather Wear

Ebrahim Leather Wear is located at 13 Shaik Ali, Subedar Street, right in the heart of Periment. If you know the area, you know it’s famous for leather work. The street is narrow and always packed with carts and bikes. Our shop is a bit small, but we use every inch of space we have. We’ve got rolls of leather stacked up to the ceiling in some corners. The lighting isn't the best, but we know where everything is. We spend our days cutting and stitching, trying to make sure the seams are straight. It’s not a factory with robots; it’s just a few of us with sewing machines and hand tools. Most of the guys working here grew up in the neighborhood. We’ve been through good times and bad times, but the shop stays open. Sometimes customers come in looking for something specific, and we have to dig through the back to find the right piece of hide. It gets hot in the afternoons, so we keep the fans running at full blast, though they mostly just move the warm air around. We don't have any awards on the wall or big posters. It’s a workshop, plain and simple. We take the leather, we make the wear, and we sell it to the people who need it. It’s been that way for as long as I can remember. We just keep our heads down and do the work, making sure things get done right.
