About Don Bosco College Of Arts & Design – Art & Craft in Chennai
If you walk through Kilpauk in Chennai, you’ll find us easily enough. Don Bosco College Of Arts & Design is tucked away in a busy part of the city. We spend our days teaching students about different creative things, from drawing to digital stuff. The atmosphere is usually a bit different from a regular science college. You might see someone carrying a big portfolio or working on a computer screen for hours. It’s a bit noisy outside because of the Tamil Nadu traffic, but inside the classrooms, it’s mostly focused. We have been here at this 600010 address for a good number of years. The faculty members are mostly people who have worked in the industry before. They aren't just reading from textbooks. We have some decent equipment for the students to use, though there’s always a queue for the best machines. It's a place where people who like art feel at home. We don't have a giant campus with stadiums, but the rooms we have are used well. Students often stay late to finish their projects. It’s just how it goes here. Lunch breaks are usually spent at the local stalls nearby. It’s a practical sort of place for anyone wanting to learn a trade in the arts. We just keep our heads down and do the teaching work every day. There is always some sort of mess in the studios, like paint or scrap paper, but that's just part of being creative and working with your hands.
