Persian Art Gallery

We've been at Spencer Plaza for a long time now. You can find us on the first floor in the second phase. It’s a busy spot but once you walk into the shop, it’s a bit quieter. We have a lot of carpets and rugs hanging up on the walls and stacked in the corners. Most of them have those detailed patterns you'd expect from a place called Persian Art Gallery. It’s mostly just a few of us here every day, moving things around so people can see the colors properly under the lights. Sometimes the mall gets really crowded on weekends, but we’re usually just here tidying up or talking to people who wander in after seeing the window display. We don't really do much fancy advertising. Most people know where we are because they’ve walked past us for years on their way to other shops on Anna Salai. The shop isn't huge, but we pack a lot in. Sometimes the stacks of rugs get a bit high and we have to move them one by one to show a customer something at the bottom. It’s physical work, honestly. We try to keep things organized, but when you're dealing with heavy textiles, it gets a bit messy by the end of the day. We just like having these pieces around and showing them to anyone who actually appreciates the work that goes into them. That's pretty much what goes on here daily.
