Dhevi Super Leather

Dhevi Super Leather is located at 9 Laudons Road in Kilpauk. It is a pretty quiet street compared to some of the main roads around this part of Chennai. We have been operating out of this building for quite a while. It is an old place with a bit of character, though the walls have definitely seen better days and could use a wash. Inside, the smell of leather is the first thing you notice when you walk through the door, which is something you just get used to. We have piles of finished leather everywhere, and it is a bit of a struggle to keep the dust off the top pieces. We do not really have a big staff, just a few of us who know the trade well. Most of our day is spent checking the hides and talking to the people who come in to buy from us. We do not do much in the way of advertising; people usually find us through word of mouth or because they have been coming here for a decade. Kilpauk is a nice area to work in because it has a bit of a neighborhood feel that you do not get in the big industrial zones. We have a small back area where we do some of the sorting and packing. It is not a high-tech operation, just hands-on work with natural materials. We try to be fair and get the job done.
