Designer Leatherware

You can find Designer Leatherware on the first floor of 6/149 in Giri Nagar. We’re located in Ramapuram, which is a nice enough neighborhood. It’s a bit of a climb up the stairs, but once you’re here, you’ll smell the leather right away. We spend most of our time cutting and stitching. It’s a small workshop, really. We have a few heavy-duty sewing machines that make a lot of noise. There are scraps of leather and spools of thread all over the place. We don't have a fancy showroom. Most of our work is done for other businesses or people who know we’re here. My father started this place, and I’ve been helping out since I was a kid. We focus on making things that last, like bags and belts. It’s not the kind of place where things are perfect; there’s always a bit of dust and the smell of glue. But we like it that way. Giri Nagar is a quiet area mostly, so we don't get too many walk-ins. People usually call us first. We work long hours when there’s a big order to finish. It’s a lot of manual labor, and our hands are usually stained by the end of the day. That’s just how it goes when you work with leather. It's tough on the fingers but satisfying.
