Danalakshmi Traders is right near the fish market in Sembiam. If you know George Colony, you know it gets quite crowded, especially on the weekends. Our address is Plot No-17/44 on Guru Swamy Salai. The smell of the fish market nearby is something you just get used to after a few days of working here. We handle a lot of different goods, mostly things that local shops and houses need in bulk. The loading and unloading happens right out front, which can get a bit tight when the trucks arrive. Sometimes the rain makes the street a bit muddy, but we keep the goods inside dry and stacked high. Guru Swamy Salai is a narrow stretch, so we have to move fast. There are three of us mostly, moving sacks and keeping track of what goes out. Sembiam is a busy place, and being at Plot No-17/44 puts us right in the middle of all the noise and action. We don't have a big sign or anything fancy, just the name and the stock. Most people find us because they’ve been coming to George Colony for years. We spend a lot of time counting inventory and talking to the drivers. It’s hard work and your hands get dirty by noon. But that is how trading goes. We keep the doors open and just wait for the next delivery to show up from the suppliers.
