Our place is located in Ganesapuram, which is near Marudhur in the Kullithalai area of Karur district. It’s a bit of a trek to get here if you’re coming from the main city, but this is where the work happens for Dalmiacement B Ltd. We’re mostly surrounded by fields and smaller villages. The office is small and simple, run by a few of us who live nearby. We handle the distribution of cement for this part of the region. You’ll often see bags stacked up waiting for the local tractors or small trucks to take them to construction sites. The pace here is a bit slower than the big cities, but when a delivery arrives, things get moving quickly. We spend a lot of our day talking to local contractors and villagers who are building houses or sheds. We don't have any flashy signs or big advertisements. Most people know C. Senthil Kumar and the rest of the crew here just by word of mouth. We keep our logs in big ledgers and try to stay on top of the orders coming in. The Tamil Nadu sun can be quite strong, so we usually start early in the morning before it gets too hot to move the heavy stuff. It’s practical work. We just supply the materials that people need to build their lives. There’s no corporate fluff here, just cement and hard work.
